Chris is the owner of Black Iron Training. He has been training professionally for over 15 years and has a great deal of experience working with clients from all walks of life. Along with running his own private training facility, Chris has helped as a strength coach at the Michigan State Police Training Academy and has been an active coach both on and off the ice for the Lansing Hockey Club. Also, from 2013-2020 he delivered Starting Strength Training Camps on behalf of Mark Rippetoe regularly with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan and helped as a member of the Starting Strength Seminar Coaching Staff.

This is our beginner program. We offer regular, small-group training sessions focused on teaching how use barbells to increase strength.
Basic Barbell Training
This program is designed to help young athletes increase strength, power, and confidence. We offer a beginner and advanced lifting after school program. We have had a great deal of success with this program over the years.
After School Barbell Club
Every one of our programs is based on meeting the individual where they are, but our personal training program provides customized programming for those with more specific needs.
Our advanced program is available to individuals who have completed our basic training program.
